Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday…O my days…

The last few days have been rather frustrating – with plenty of running around and not getting much done. Perhaps it was the fact that the studio was in a slightly unfamiliar condition of pristineness or perhaps it was purely because I am entering a new phase in my design process. Nonetheless, it was testing and demotivating. The only good thing this week was my luck in finding 3 brilliant records(well I’ve yet to listen to one of them) while waiting for the bus..

Wings- Back to the Egg, Kate Bush- The Kick Inside and (drumrolls please…) Ms Grace Jones- Nightclubbing!!! Oh I luvv!

I previously posted on the mysterious punk rocker Countess Zappa riding into town on a white horse. Now, check out her amazing work. Luvv.

Kazuya Tsuji - gravity painting machine

I was the first person to be in on my floor yesterday before many sore heads started trickling in. After a little tidy up, and clearing of empty bottles and cans and cups, I managed to have a good nosey around and took pics of works which I personally think are fantastic. Some artist are from my floor, whom I see quite a lot and are now called friends while others are from the 3rd floor which I’m not that familiar with. Here’s a little taster of their work. Please do check out their site to see more;

Opening Nite

Morning…

A very big thank you to all that came last nite. It was fantastic to see so many of you and a pleasure to share a little bit of me with everyone. Probably had a glass(or two) of red too many but hey, let’s live a little shall we!

I personally haven’t had the chance to go nosey around  yesterday but will definitely be doing so today. Open Studio continues today and tomorrow 1pm to 5pm.  See you there!

James Hock-SE1 Open Day

Studio-Heena Kim

There was a flurry of activities at the studio today, mainly people white washing their walls . It was quite remarkable actually as I’ve never seen so many people simultaneous paint their walls :0 . In general, I think everyone in the space is a little excited and I am excited to see what everyone will be showing tomorrow(tonight I mean).

As for Studio James Hock, well, we are finally ready(almost). Feeling quite proud with what I’ve done and the studio is looking pretty nice. Besides pieces from previous collection, we will be showing a couple of artwork and… there will be accessories(not in the shop yet!) from the AW collection for sale at special prices :0 and also some shoes and clothing.

So, come join us from 6pm – 10pm!
